Buzznet is celebrating 18 years of warped tour and asked me to talk about my favorite memories from being on the tour! Take a look at the interview below!
Buzznet: What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear warped tour?
Me: When I hear warped tour, I think summer camp and heat. Holy hell it’s hot.
Buzznet: What is your most memorable moment from being on that tour?
Me: Most memorable moment on warped was our set in Chicago. I can remember being so overwhelmed by the crowds reaction and size. I couldn’t believe how intense they all were, especially since it had just rained.
Buzznet: What band did you become great friends with that no one would ever expect?
Me: I became friends with the guys in Attack Attack. They were awesome. I also thing I became closest with them as well.
Buzznet: Suggestions on how to survive a day at Warped Tour?
Me: Drink loads of water! Seriously. You need to stay hydrated to even think of going to warped! Also, sunscreen or else you’ll burn and be in pain :(
Buzznet: Craziest thing you’ve ever seen on Warped Tour?
Me: The craziest thing would definitely be this huge storm in Texas! Tents were flying away, equipment was being drenched. It was not pleasant but something I’ll never forget.
Buzznet: Any bands you’re excited to see this year?
Me: Taking back sunday, the used and four year strong! I’m expecting some serious sing alongs!
Hey there! I’ve finished vocals, and had Rian Dawson (All Time Low) record drums! Needless to say, It has been an extremely productive few days. On day 2 of vocals, I finished harmonies for “I guess we’re cool” and completely finished “Told you so.” I believe that every musician has one song that stands out to them. There’s one song in particular that they are incredibly proud of. Vocally, I’ve never been as challenged as I was with the ballad, ‘Told you so.’ It is most emotional, and demanding performance I believe I’ve ever done. That could sound arrogant but I just feel so close to this song. There were moments where I wasn’t sure if I should redo a line because it sounded so intimate. But thankfully I had enough encouragement from everyone to keep it as is. So expect to shed a tear or two, cause this ones a doozy!
Yesterday was a drum day! Stacy Jones (American Hi-Fi singer/producer/awesomest dude) let us use his studio to track. Rian came in and knocked out all four songs like it was a walk in the park. He’s a damn pro! Yes, I’m biased but it’s not secret the man can wail! With the real drums in place, the songs are becoming more and more organic and powerful! Tonight, we track bass. You better believe we’ll be live on stickam!! Till next time <3
